Citrine

Citrine is a transparent, light yellow to brown-orange variety of quartz.

A variety of quartz yellow, yellow-brown, lemon-yellow or yellow-orange. The name kytron is of Greek origin and means the color of lemon. Its coloration is caused by fine inclusions of iron hydroxides in the crystal lattice. The use of citrine as a gemstone has been rare in the past due to its rare occurrence. From the Sarmatian burial ground (1st century AD) (Nikolaev region) comes a bracelet connected in two pieces with figures of a man and a woman, which are connected in the end by a large citrine.

Today, citrine is a recognized and generally popular stone. Amethysts or synthetically produced amethysts often appear on the market. Natural is available in 6 shades of yellow. It is the stone of the Sun for a warm color. It is often confused and offered as topas, which has a higher value.
